I have given you many prayers and devotions–you only need to reach into the tool box and pull one out…

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work.

“My beloved, do not be alarmed or afraid when you see the apparent triumph of the lawless one. My Church has not yet undergone her passion. The mysterious plan of God is beyond all human comprehension. Keep the faith–keep to the prayers. The rosary especially is a great gift to this age. I have given you many prayers and devotions–you only need to reach into the tool box and pull one out. Each one has a specific use, but all are useful. Get in the habit, dear child, of using often the spiritual tools I have given you. Those who do not know how to use the tools in the box will have a far more difficult time in the days ahead. I have not left you orphaned, my children. Pray! I am with you through it all.”

Jesus I trust in you. Help me to know what tools you wish me to use in every situation. Open my ears to hear your instructions and lessons. Jesus keep us and all our loved ones safe in your care. Here we are Lord–your unworthy servants come to do your will. Amen.

Thank you Lord for such a wide arsenal of protection. The Servant of God, Maria Esperanza, recommended reading Psalm 91 for protection in our times.

Peli and friends – quite in Trinidad I’ve received this story. UNBELIEVABLE: but we are reaping what we have sown. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/judge-rules-no-jail-time-for-infanticide-because-canada-accepts-abortion

We need to pray, we have to pray harder!!

Thank you for the Catholic survival kit site! Question, though…is it permissible for a person to sell blessed items? Or is the amount just for postage…am not clear on all this. Thank you!

Good question Rose. I thought you could ask for a “suggested donation” but you couldn’t actually sell the items. Perhaps Gina, you have looked into this already?

you are correct about not selling blessed items. 500 kits when first launched were blessed for a fundraiser. i am working with the web builder to take off that they are blessed. the kits are offered for sale, used for fundraising and given out by benefactor’s.
sorry for any confusion.

From OurLadyofAmerica.org :

Many thanks to those who have expressed interest in the Novena announced on the Birthday of Our Lady!

The following internet link takes you to a series of TV videos which were made with the Apostolate for Family Consecration http://www.familyland.org about Our Lady of America.

http://www.ourladyofamerica.org/CatholicFamilyLand.php

Since these videos were done, it has been learned that the Archdiocese of Cincinnati has had canonical ascendancy over the devotion to Our Lady of America itself because of the competence exercised by Archbishop Paul Francis Leibold as initiated by Sister Mary Ephrem (Mildred Neuzil). With this in mind, it is hopeful that the Metropolitan Archbishop of Cincinnati will re-assert the competence of his Archdiocese over devotion to Our Lady of America.

Reminder:

Each day please pray: the Prayer to Our Lady of America, Patroness of our Land; Prayer to Saint Michael, the Archangel; The Apiration, “Glory to the Blood of Jesus, Now and forever more!”; and, the Prayer given to St. Gertrude the Great.

For ease you may click here http://www.ourladyofamerica.org/novena_prayers.php for the prayers in an easy to print document.

Again, please have in mind the bishops of the United States of America, and especially also those lay persons who have been working at the behest of bishops on the devotion to Our Lady of America, as you pray this novena for their intentions.

We are asking those who wish to see devotion to Our Lady of America advance more quickly to pray the following prayers once each day for these nine (9) days:

September 26, 2011 55th Anniversary of the First Apparition of Our Lady of America
September 27, 2011 Feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, Founder
September 28, 2011 Feast of Saint Wenceslaus and Feast of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz & Companions, Martyrs
September 29, 2011 Feast of Saint Michael The Archangel and of The Archangels, Gabriel & Raphael
September 30, 2011 Feast of Saint Jerome, Priest, Doctor of The Church, and Father of Scripture Studies
October 1, 2011 Feast of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Doctor of the Church
October 2, 2011 Feast of The Holy Guardian Angels
October 3, 2011 Feast of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, Indiana Foundress of the Sisters of Providence
October 4, 2011 Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, Founder, “The Little Poor One”

Our Lady of America Pray for us!

I just saw something on the news about a group still trying to charge the pope with “crimes against humanity” because of the sexual abuse scandals. “Keep to the prayers” for the pope at this time. Love to you all.

I was confused about Gina’s comments on whether the items being sold are blessed or not, but I guess the items are not blessed, if I understand correctly.

Pray, too, for Fr. Frank Pavone. This is not looking good. I hope I’m wrong about my gut feeling.

Marianne and all please read this article and let us not be too hasty to judge. The quotes from the catechism* should give us all something to ponder. Jesus, shed your light of truth over this situation and may peace and unity reign in your holy Church. Amen.

*”Christ’s disciples have “put on the new man, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. By “putting away falsehood,” they are to “put away all malice and all guile and insincerity and envy and all slander.”(#2475)

“Respect for the reputation of persons forbids every attitude and word likely to cause them unjust injury. He becomes guilty: – of rash judgment who, even tacitly, assumes as true, without sufficient foundation, the moral fault of a neighbor; – of detraction who, without objectively valid reason, discloses another’s faults and failings to persons who did not know them; – of calumny who, by remarks contrary to the truth, harms the reputation of others and gives occasion for false judgments concerning them.”(#2477)

“Detraction and calumny destroy the reputation and honor of one’s neighbor. Honor is the social witness given to human dignity, and everyone enjoys a natural right to the honor of his name and reputation and to respect. Thus, detraction and calumny offend against the virtues of justice and charity.” (#2479)

Friends I have had some strange dreams lately of being attacked, but my attacker, while frightening, had no real power. I also dreamed that “somebody” gave me a beautiful bouquet of red and yellow roses. Thank you Mother! Let us remember to pray our prayers of protection, and please do say a prayer for this blog. Jesus we trust in you. Jesus we trust in you. Jesus we trust in you. Amen.

Venerable Elena Aiello will be Beatified today, the feast of the Holy Cross.
The above article about her life is well worth reading.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle!

I’m sorry if I came across as judging Fr. Pavone. I actually knew Fr. Pavone in the early days of PFL and knew him to be a holy priest. However, we have seen Satan attack our most fierce defenders lately and so I am, perhaps, gun shy. Thus, my request for prayers for him.

I apologize, Marianne. I was pointing the finger at myself since I felt the CCC quotes applied to me in many ways. However, I think we all can do well to read them and ponder them in our hearts. Certainly let us continue to pray for our priests and for each other. What days we are in! The other thing to remember is not to put anyone no matter how holy, or any thing no matter how worthy, on a pedestal. The pedestal belongs to Christ alone. Our celebrity culture makes it easy to fall into that trap.

Comment from Mary Therese
Time: September 14, 2011, 12:52 pm

Personally, I have been watching and supporting Fr. Pavone for years. I believe that we all need to periodically be reconnected with our roots; and have a good refreshing of who we are and where we are going…

With that said, in my heart, I think that this will be good for Fr. Pavone and help to remind him of humility. He seems to have much, but the hairy legged one can really taunt Christ’s greatest warriors, as we’ve seen… So my attitude is to pray that his bishop has a wonderful heart for his priest(s), and that this will be a very postitive activity for the bishop, Fr. Pavone and all of the pro-life movement. You never know what great things can happen with an action such as this united with powerful prayer. Checks and balances can be a very good thing.

Pelianito,
Part of the quote you posted about slander was posted on an article about Fr. Pavone’s situation. It was on Catholic.org. I have to say that it made me reflect on how I speak about others.
