Little children, you do not grasp the power I give to faithful souls…

Psalm 2:10-11 And now, kings, give heed; take warning, rulers on earth. Serve the LORD with fear; with trembling bow down in homage, lest God be angry and you perish from the way in a sudden blaze of anger. Happy are all who take refuge in God!

“Little child, hear me well. You cannot imagine what is to come upon the earth. I have been exhorting you for years now, to pray and fast. The time of fulfillment is almost upon you. Indeed the labor pains have begun and will intensify before you see the glory of God revealed. Sin has purchased so much death! So much! All of heaven weeps for the earth. Yet the fidelity of my faithful ones is a balm and a bandage on the wounds inflicted on me and on the world by sin. Little children, you do not grasp the power I give to faithful souls. If you did, nothing would ever frighten you and you would fight temptation with your last ounce of blood. Be near to me now, my children. Let your presence give me comfort as mine gives you comfort. Together our embrace will light the flame of love in a world gone dark and cold. Love me, my children. It is the path to peace—in your heart and in the whole world.”

Jesus I love you! Be near to me always and may your love be always reflected in me so that the flame of your love might burn again in the world. Amen.

Dear Lord, stay close to us all. Have Mercy on so many who simply have not been taught about YOu, simply do not know You in any way, have been decieved and led astray, have been severly attacked and are fallen soldiers, are young and not been catechised in any way. Lord have Mercy on the whole of humanity. Pour out Holy Spirit on all of humanity and be bold and clear in your efforts to turn hearts to God. Use all means to open hearts to the Truth so all will return to LOVE, to Jesus and His Sacred Heart and dear Mary and Her Immaculate Heart. Please Holy Spirit inspire all the little ones who have been blessed to have responded to grace to beseech Mercy and Pardon on all souls. No matter where the souls are Jesus, please pour down Mercy NOW. May our prayers and sacrifices increase greatly Lord. Please Lord have Mercy and may we Not REAP what we deserve for all the sin we have all contributed to in this world. GOd the Father have Mercy for the sake of the wounds and Passion of Christ.

Love me children. It is the path to peace.in your heart and in the whole world.

The ONlY way to peace. THe true peace, the peace of Christ. I seriously believe we are all being purged deeply. Through our sufferings we are being cleansed of deep down “stuff” that we do not even realize is there. Cleaned out so there is space for this wonderful LOVE of CHRIST to fill us. Clutter must go for Christ to be able to fill. It is a painful process but necessary. It is Mercy in action. Then the Love of Christ can bring us to peace within and into the whole world. All starting with the little ones who have turned to Christ for help, Love and Mercy. We are all broken people and Jesus is aching to enter our brokenness to fill us with His Love. Come Lord Jesus Come.

Again, God provides confirmation. Today is the optional feast day of St. Raymond of Penyafort. The office of readings had this from his writings (in the public domain and may be reproduced freely):

The preacher of God’s truth has told us that all who want to live righteously in Christ will suffer persecution. If he spoke the truth and did not lie, the only exception to this general statement is, I think, the person who either neglects, or does not know how, to live temperately, justly and righteously in this world.

May you never be omitted from the number of those whose house is peaceful, quiet and free from care; those on whom the Lord’s chastisement does not descend; those who live out their days in prosperity, and in the twinkling of an eye will go down to hell.

Your purity of life, your devotion, deserve and call for a reward; because you are acceptable and pleasing to God your purity of life must be made purer still, by frequent buffetings, until you attain perfect sincerity of heart. If from time to time you feel the sword falling on you with double or treble force, this also should be seen as sheer joy and the mark of love.

The two-edged sword consists in conflict without, fears within. It falls with double or treble force within, when the cunning spirit troubles the depths of your heart with guile and enticements. You have learned enough already about these kinds of warfare, or you would not have been able to enjoy peace and interior tranquillity in all its beauty.

The sword falls with double and treble force externally when, without cause being given, there breaks out from within the Church persecution in spiritual matters, where wounds are more serious, especially when inflicted by friends.
This is that enviable and blessed cross of Christ, which Andrew, that manly saint, received with joyful heart: the cross in which alone we must make our boast, as Paul, God’s chosen instrument, has told us.

Look then on Jesus, the author and preserver of faith: in complete sinlessness he suffered, and at the hands of those who were his own, and was numbered among the wicked. As you drink the cup of the Lord Jesus (how glorious it is!), give thanks to the Lord, the giver of all blessings.

May the God of love and peace set your hearts at rest and speed you on your journey; may he meanwhile shelter you from disturbance by others in the hidden recesses of his love, until he brings you at last into that place of complete plenitude where you will repose for ever in the vision of peace, in the security of trust and in the restful enjoyment of his riches.

    St. Raymond of Penyafort, priest

    Oh, Peli.

Years ago there was a vision of people comforting the Lord as molten fire ran down either side of a little gauze tent where He was mourning the need for this chastisement. It was like an arrow to my soul to read this.

Yes, St. Raymond, the persecution that breaks out ‘within the church’ is the worst. Definitely. Thank you for sharing this wisdom.

We are down to minutes, now.

To all, this has already been a bittersweet beginning to the new Year. The sweetest news is that I received a sample in the mail of the miraculous oil that inexplicably seeps from icons in the chapel for Little Audrey Santos. I opened it during Christmas week and blessed myself, hoping my memory issues would be cured but really not expecting much. I then packaged it away thinking it really needed to be used on someone who really needs it. The memory issues originate with a hysterectomy I had in 1998 when they removed my (healthy) ovaries. I went into severe menapause and have suffered horrible consequences since. I’ve only managed it day to day by estrogen replacement – which I have not be able to function without. Since January 1, 2012 the feast of Mary Mother of God, I have not needed the estrogen whatsoever, though I occasionally still experience very, very mild and brief symptoms…the normally devastating ones are gone. I don’t know whether or not my memory will be cured or not as I don’t feel any different mentally, but if the estrogen was the problem, it may be that my memory will improve now that I am not using that drug. This turn of events has completely astounded and amazed me, as I really was not expecting this to happen. In the midst of my weakness and sin, God cures me? How do we comprend this? For me, it seems he has taken my body back to it’s state 12 years ago (with regard to this condition), like a mini resurrection. In this miracle, He has given me proof (I didn’t ask for), for the Resurrection, by giving me a personal experience of its affects on my own body. That is to say, he restored me to a condition of health I have not experienced since 1998.

    http://www.littleaudreysanto.org/

The other turn of events that has devastated me personally, is that a key partner with whom I work announced on Thursday that he is moving into another group within one week. I’m relatively new to the technical environment we support (and do not possess his skills whatsoever), and was essentially only his workhorse and therefore completely dependent upon him, while he was definitely driving everything. The breadth and depth of his knowledge is irreplaceable. I relied on his knowledge and guidance and advise in every aspect of my job. I feel as though the floor has dropped from underneath me upon hearing this news. I was involved in major initiatives with him that he was driving and in complete command over. I cannot step into his shoes, and yet my manager has clearly indicated he expects me to do that. My first reaction was really traumatic fear and shock and panic, which quickly turned to anger and blame (that management would permit him to move so quickly). But suddenly in these first moments and during this natural human reaction to this news, it was as if my Guardian Angel suddenly poured light on my soul and I realized how I had depended upon this person at work far more than on God (or myself). There was no one to blame but myself. Also, God’s grace entered into this moment and I felt called to turn my dependence away from this person and put it where it belongs…on God. A huge, major support of my life was just pulled out from under me, and all the other people at work were running away as fast as they could, so there was absolutely no one to turn to whatsoever but God. Moreover, the thought came to me, “this is only the beginning….other supports upon which you rely will be removed too, until you cling only to Me” It was really an enlightening, yet terribly frightening moment. I’ve been devastated since I received this news. At one moment I felt as though I wanted to take the first train out of dodge -taking any other job I could, but realized quickly that would be abandoning my manager during his greatest need. At that moment, I decided, “no, I am going to have to stay and serve him as best I can, until this crisis has passed..come what may”. I expect great change this year, I expect to endure great trials, and I look around and wonder what will I lose next? I know it’s for my own good that God permits this, but in the midst of this trial, it is very dark indeed.

    Friends,

See link below on St. Faustina quotes on Trust. If we but surrender and Trust in HIM…”I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls. Jean,
What a wonderful story about your healing! I think you should write the Santo family back and let them know what happened. I am sure they are interested in knowing that Audrey’s ministry and the healing oils have been instrumental in relieving your illness. This sort of testimony also contributes toward the cause of her beatification, which is under investigation.

Special Masses of Reparation for Our Nation: Next Mass on Monday, January 16th at 7pm (EST)

There are perhaps more than 100 priests throughout the country since March 2011 who have been celebrating monthly Masses of Reparation (on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7pm) for the primary purpose of asking God for His Mercy on our nation. Please talk with your priests and ask them to consider celebrating these monthly Masses of Reparation which our families and nation desperately need for peace in this world. Even if you are unable to attend such a Mass please join with us in prayer for this purpose.

Message from Our Lord to a visionary about these Masses of Reparation: “These Masses of Reparation along with prayers of my faithful children are what has held back the “SWORD” of My Father upon your nation. There will never be a Mass celebrated or a prayer said for the intentions of reparation that will go unanswered. Time is of the essence as there are no grains of sand left in the hourglass.”

Join us for 40 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING (imploring God’s Mercy on the U.S and the world) from January 8 ( Feast of the Epiphany) – February 16, 2012. This is an URGENT call to PRAY and FAST!

This global prayer and fasting crusade is sponsored by numerous Christian organizations to pray and fast for the conversion of nations and to implore God’s Mercy on our world.  This is the 15th crusade of 40 Days since it was established during Lent of 2003. The urgent call to pray and fast is in response to escalating global threats:

    Nuclear armed nations
Escalating tensions in the Middle East
Escalating tensions between North and South Korea
Increasing natural and manmade disasters, ie., the mega earthquake last year in Japan
The slaughter of the innocents (abortion) and the marginalizing of the elderly and the disabled
Deteriorating economic conditions of the U.S. and other nations.

Thank you Tim for making us aware of the 40 days. You mention a message from a visionary. I assume this is someone connected to this event or at least someone who is very reliable. It is just that when a visionary is so anonymous one has to be very careful. I found the comment that the sands of time have finished very strong.
However, whether authentic or not, the whole idea of the global 40 days is very needed. ESPECIALLY, when the pope has said a shadow has fallen over our time

  18. anneon 09 Jan 2012 at 5:19 am

Noel, thank you for keeping us today in your Mass. i place you all in my Adoration which is regularly. i am finding that it is best to keep life very very simple, do what has to be done and spend much time in Adoration. The Lord has been asking for pray and fasting for years and years especially since Fatima. If only we had responded more years ago……..but good old human nature.
I do sense that the time is exceptionally urgent now. Unite our prayers to the whole communion of saints. I am sure they are all praying. Ask all your loved ones who have gone to pray for us all here on earth.

    Pelianito,

Thank you so much for your insights about the vision I shared in the other thread.

Noel, I was really struck by your vision as well.

The recurring theme seems to be to TRUST and to SURRENDER, two major blocks in my relationship with our Lord. Like Peter, I get out of the boat to go to Him, but oftentimes, become fearful when take a “peek” at the raging waters, and take my eyes off Jesus.

The other “God-incidence” I experienced today, after waking up from a dream, I was silently asking myself, why have I not been “chosen” by Don Bosco? He too, had many dreams that unlike me he was able to discern, how I wish he would help me! Later on the day, I was able to select my companion saint for the year, and you guessed it, Don Bosco chose me!

    Dearest friends in Christ,
Lately I have been receiving messages that have a different ‘feel’ to me. The messages, as always, apply to me too. It feels as if I am supposed to say these things out loud … to whom I do not know. I am a simple wife and mother. But these messages feel like I am supposed to stand on the street corner and shout them to everyone. I don’t really think that the Lord wants me to do that. They feel like those ‘hell-fire’ type of sermons … a little angry but not really anger … maybe more urgent? These are new to me and are not laced with the gentler feel of the messages I used to receive long ago. One of the thoughts that cross my mind is that if I say these things out loud, people will hate me. I thought about putting these messages on my facebook page but I think my family and friends will think I am nuts and who is she to carry on like this?? I need the gifts of humility and courage for this. Here is one I received today:

Who among you can say they truly love God and yet not pray for your brothers and sisters who are lost in the darkness of sin? Pray for the murderer, the rapist, the pedophile, the perverse, the depraved, the greedy, the jealous, the slanderer, and the malicious. Pray for those whose hearts are bent on revenge. Pray for those who value only the self and worship at the altar of self-gratification. Pray for those who do not believe in and blaspheme the Lord God. Pray for those who cast out God and replace Him with the idols of men. It is God’s grace alone that has saved you from walking these paths! Your forgiveness must never be conditional … given to some and not to others. The more abhorrent the actions of a brother or sister are to you, the more YOU must pray for them. Remember always that God loves these children deeply and grieves for them. You are saved by God’s grace alone and not by our own merit. Pray! For the sake of your soul as well as theirs.

O’ my Jesus forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to heaven; especially those in most need of Your Mercy

Perhaps you Peli and/or others here will have more insight for me. I pray for guidance, wisdom and understanding.

    Peace of Christ to all,
    LauraLee

  27. anneon 09 Jan 2012 at 7:32 pm

Truly Jean, we are all being called to absolute Trust and Surrender. Beyond the beyond, if you understand what i mean. Trust and Surrender beyond our little humanity can imagine. We are being called to TRust in a Majestic God; to Surrender to Him completely. To hand over our human will and ask that HIS Divine Will reign in us.
What a process!!! we little creatures cling and cling and will not let go. So the Lord gives us trials, consolations, trials, consolations and is training us. He is leading us to let go.
    Tug of war in us.
So dear Lord pour down ALL of Your graces to help us Lord on this amazing journey. A journey to total Abandonment in trust and surrender…..from the kingdom of the human will to the Kingdom of the Divine Will.
May the Will of the Father, made known by the Son , by the Power of the Holy Spirit rein in me. Come Divine Will and be the Life of my Acts and Prayers. Pour down Your Holy Spirit Lord on all of humanity for we are truly on the verge of the Third Fiat, the Age of the Holy Spirit.

  28. Beckyon 09 Jan 2012 at 8:07 pm

I would like your help in discerning something. Several months ago, I felt nudges to get back on facebook. I shrugged it off, not sure if God was nudging me or if it was just me. The nudges would come and go. Recently, the nudges feel like shoves now. I feel like God is wanting me to go on facebook to inform friends and family of the times that are upon us, and to spiritually uplift them. I’m trying to discern if this is from God or some pride thing from the evil one to make me look
and feel good. It could also be just me wanting to get
    back on.

Now, there are reasons why I got off that cause me to not want to be on facebook. I strongly dislike facebook, because my brother’s life was ruined by gossip of others. People learn all about you and end up judging you. Plus, I had some personal hardships on facebook, when I was informing before, where people ended up thinking I was stupid and crazy. It bothered me for months, and I felt so alone. I didn’t have anyone to talk to. All of this is holding me back from having a facebook again, but I need to let go of all this and move on.

Anyway, Sorry about my rambling. I’ve been praying about what to do and for a confirmation that these nudges and shoves are from God. Any insight you all can give will be so appreciated and helpful! Thank you, family! :)

This is a really powerful message. It could be frightening if we didn’t trust in the Lord. A secular website that I sometimes read is saying that something big may happen in March–what, I don’t know, possibly the collapse of the Euro or some financial catastrophic event that would shake the world system. Whether they’re correct or not I can’t say, but it is interesting that the prophetic words seem to match what they’re saying.

  30. Philomenaon 09 Jan 2012 at 8:36 pm

Peli, in the past I’ve read about people on this blog mentioning that they often see certain number sequences when they happen to look at their clocks. Well, I started to see these sequences too and it’s become so frequent that I that it was bordering on the ridiculous. Without consciously planning it or intentionally looking for it, I turn and notice something like 11:11, 5:55, 4:44, etc. I mentioned it to a priest friend and he told me it was a silly coincidence but last week he sent me a message saying he had started to notice these times himself.

On Friday of last week I told God to please take these instances of seeing these times away if they weren’t from Him. Well, for the next couple of days they did lessen in frequency but never went away completely and today the frequency is back.

The last time this was brought up here, I remember you said we should take it as a call to prayer and I’ve tried to do this. However, I thought I could ask to see if you or anyone else had any thoughts on this. Or maybe, considering the part where the message reads, “The time of fulfillment is almost upon you,” I should see it as a confirmation.
    Thoughts??

  31. pelianitoon 09 Jan 2012 at 9:15 pm

Saab, that is delightful! Don Bosco, a saint for our time–like so many!

  32. pelianitoon 09 Jan 2012 at 9:28 pm

LauraLee, this is a powerful message and ties in with the urgency we hear in so many places to pray for souls. How many will die unexpectedly? Where would they end up if no one prayed for them?

Here is a message from my journal to help you with discernment. As you can see, I too struggled with my calling. Only in the will of God is found true peace.

    November 12, 2003
Acts 11: 28 And one of them named Agabus stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine all over the world, and it happened under Claudius. 29 So the disciples determined that, according to ability, each should send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea.

“Beloved my word does not go out without accomplishing that which it was sent to do. Do not be afraid to make known the things I have told you, for it is for the encouragement and upbuilding of the members of my Body. They are in need of messengers of encouragement, prophets who will challenge them anew to live according to the will of God. Are you such a one?”

Lord you alone know the gifts you have given me. You alone know what is my destiny and purpose. Grant me O Lord, the grace to surrender well and completely, with great joy to your holy will for me. Mary Immaculate, Full of Grace, grant me all I need to accomplish what your Son desires. Pray for me always. I cling to you in love.

BVM: “Beloved child, do not be afraid to do all he asks of you. Better to lose every friend you have than to ignore the will of the One who loves you and gave His life for you.”

Yes Mother, Holy and Immaculate. I am weak. Teach me and guide me, that I might stay away from sin and conquer my lower nature, which is rebellious.
BVM: “Child I am with you.”

    Alleluia! Thanks be to God!

One more thought, what is facebook but our new “streetcorner”? That said, see also my comments on Becky’s post re facebook. Jesus also said hard things and lost followers: “If you do not eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you.” Let us be the ones to respond with Peter: “Lord to whom shall we go. You have the words of eternal life.”

  33. pelianitoon 09 Jan 2012 at 9:32 pm

Becky, I have mixed feelings about facebook. I know some people who use it for good, but I have also heard about the trouble that comes with a facebook account. One thing that does trouble me is how much time is wasted on facebook that could be spent in prayer. Take a few days to pray about it. Every time the temptation comes pray a decade of Divine Mercy asking God to take the urge away if it is not from him. I think after three days you will have your answer. If you still have the urge after three days, then go ahead in faith and be at peace. God can crash your computer if he wants you off it! Surrender, surrender, surrender!

  34. pelianitoon 09 Jan 2012 at 9:35 pm

Philomena, I have no insight into the number thing. Your insight into the “time of fulfillment” is a good one. If the time is upon us then this is no time to let up on our prayers. Lord Jesus have mercy on us, for we are sinners.

  35. anneon 10 Jan 2012 at 12:29 am

i have just come back from Adoration while most of you are probably sleeping. Daytime here.
I sensed very strongly that people are looking for and will certainly be looking for AUTHENTICITY. Single minded for the Lord. I know i am being pruned as much needs to be pruned and strengthened. Jesus in me, Jesus in His People. ALL of Him and none of me. No compromises.
People want that NOW and certainly in the future. The world gives them relativism, compromise, lies and deceit. The truly do want Truth whether they are conscious of it or not.
Just a thought. Thank you for all your generous sharing. thank you to all of you.

  36. TSon 10 Jan 2012 at 9:49 am

    Philomena,
I am still seeing 11:11, sometimes twice in a day. There is little support or info out there. But there are many who are seeing time prompts. If you are googling, be aware that most 11:11 hits are new age based and relate to the new age version on how they will attempt to pervert the illumination of conscience. I asked the Lord to intervene, and i am still seeing 11:11.

I have been under persecution from family for mentioning certain truths (of topics that need not be mentioned here) and for exposing various evils. This is over a looming issue that has been there for a while and was finally brought to light. It is the classic case of “stay silent and everybody is happy, or speak the truth and get ready for the fireworks”.

If anyone who has a few spare prayers, please ask the Lord that my family may be preserved in truth and peace and be blessed with conversion.

    Thanks and God bless!

A great piece for all of us at Peli’s Blog to read, as we are witnessing such an outpouring of grace:

Good Lord… I was just going through my Google feed and the sheer number of web pages mocking Christianity, Jesus and the Pope (his latest comments on homosexuality have infuriated so many people) are ASTOUNDING. I also read that New Jersey has fast-tracked their gay marriage bill and one of the politicians said that waiting to do this was the biggest mistake of his career.

Oh, God. Have mercy. Just as was prophisied so long ago, the world hates and persecutes us. May your coming be soon and in glory.

Facebook can be an instrument of evangelization if it is used properly.
About two years ago a young man established a page called “Ask a Catholic Nun” and invited me to be part of a team of sisters answering questions from anyone who cares to post them. It’s been a great way to help people learn more about the Faith. Many of the questions are so basic. People are really trying to learn more. I feel it is one thing I can do to help prepare them for whatever is coming.

I have the feeling I ought to share a ‘bird story’ (sorry, no chickens or turkeys this time!)

I went into a local discount store today and as I was looking for an item, I noticed a speckled grackle had gotten in. The bird was trying to find a way out, even hanging on the light fixtures, and knowing birds as I do, I could tell it was exhausted.

One young man, an employee, joked crudely about having the bird fly into someone. Another woman spoke of getting a blanket and useless but well-meaning advice. But most people paid no attention.

The poor bird was now sitting on the lintel of the automatic sliding door, with no idea how to get out even though people were moving in and out under it. That a wild bird would even be so close to people showed how little strength it had left.

The lintel was high, but on the second try I managed to get a little grey clawed foot. Like some kind of crazy old woman I heard myself saying, ‘Come down, little one.’ (Wonder what the security cameras thought?) Of course, the grackle didn’t really view me as a friend, but birds will not struggle if their feet are immobilized and finally getting a grip, I got the bird. Juggling my purchase and purse in one hand and with the bird in the other hand, I could simply walk through double automatic sliding doors that wouldn’t open for a bird.

A squawk, and the prisoner took off for a roost on a nearby roof. I felt a little like St. Francis!

But then I started to think about some of these comments, and a sense of the prophetic descended. You who are weary…His hand or the hand of one of His servants is reaching up to rescue you. You who are trapped…God is sending someone. In a whole crowd of mockers or well-meaning folks who won’t really do anything, there could be one that can and will. The doors that won’t open for you will open for someone else.

I am reading about the fast and realizing I physically can’t do it.

I’ve responded many times over these 20 or more years to many calls for fasting and prayer, but my health is not up to it now. I will have to pray while others fast.

Then I think about MP and his run to the ‘Thumb’. I could no more do that than I could fly to the moon, but MP could, and he did, and he took us up there with him, in his heart and in his cross scratched on the rock.

Run for me, brothers and sisters, and I’ll support you in prayer.

Just received this from my brother in UK from the leader of his prayer group. It confirms much of what has been said here.

A WORD FROM THE LORD FOR 2012
(Myles Dempsey, Prince of Peace Prayer Group and New Dawn Conference)
Fog! General confusion and desolation for the world, but those who put their trust in me will see by my light.
Fear not. I will guide those who have faith. The proud who put their trust in worthless things will be confounded, but those who walk in humility will be protected.
Stay wide awake – destruction is not asleep. Be alert and constant in prayer. The coming days will be a time of decision – light or darkness with no compromise.
    2 Peter 1:19
So we have confirmation of what was said in prophecies; and you will be right to depend on prophecy and take it as a lamp for lighting a way through the dark until the morning star rises in your minds.
Light shines forth for the just and joy for the upright of heart, alleluia

Yesterday, when I was doing the wash–which has been a large task for quite a while–I was just “being”…

When from behind me, and ever so close, I heard the words, “It is I”. The words were so gentle and so intimate. I am blown away by the Subtle Beauty of He Who visited me. This Visit caused me to think of Servant of God Maria Esperanza’s words:

“Little children, you do not grasp the power I give to faithful souls. If you did, nothing would ever frighten you and you would fight temptation with your last ounce of blood.”

After a week of receiving so MANY blessings and graces I “fell” that is, I let my emotions take over, of course with my spouse. :)

I went to my bedroom and said an Act of Contrition and refused to allow myself to try to justify myself. Then, I took a breath, let myself calm down, and went back about my business.

It is those “little” things, if left unrepented, that allow errors to escalate. The situation diffused without mention of it again, with the exception of my husband saying he would wash the dishes (we used paper plates!).

Jesus, I surrender everything to you, including my faults and weaknesses. I trust that you will hold us up and help us to give even our last ounce of blood for You. Jesus, I trust in YOU.

    Friends,
I have been looking for this quote from Pope Urban VIII, for some time.
There has been many concerns of whose messages seem real or do not. This quote seems very appropriate, since the time and season in which we live is soo dire:
PAPAL STATEMENTS “It is better to believe than not to believe, for, if you believe, and it is proven true, you will be happy that you have believed, because Our Holy Mother asked it.  If you believe, and it should be proven false, you will receive all blessings as if it had been true, because you believed it to be true.”  — His Holiness, Urban VIII (Pope, 1623-44) “This too must be listed among the rights of a human being, to honor God according to the sincere dictates of his own conscience, and therefore the right to practice his religion privately and publicly.”  — His Holiness, John XXIII, Pacem in Terris, April 11, 1963
I have absolute trust in God, as the faith and trust of a child, so I choose to believe as long as messages do not go against Church Doctrine. I wanted to remember this quote, when Peli & I were discussing ‘other’ visionaries and Apparation sites.
Please continue praying without ceasing & attend the Holy Mass as many times as your situations allow. I am certainly no prophet or visionary, just a servant of Jesus.
Please join in prayer for the Pope, and to save America, and to absolutely end abortion! I humbly beg for the Mercy of God the Father. Jesus, I trust in you!

  48. Sandraon 10 Jan 2012 at 7:39 pm

Peli, this message is so powerful! When I read it…every sentence speaks volumes. It is difficult for me to put into words what I receive from it. The words speak to my soul. They are not simply words or a message, for when I read them, I feel they have life to them. It’s like the words are being “spoken” Praise be to God!
How is it, that we are have a God who desires unity with us even though our sin has purchased so much death that heaven weeps! YET HE SPEAKS”Let your presence give me comfort as mine gives you comfort. TOGETHER OUR EMBRANCE will light the flame of love in a world gone dark and cold. Love me, my children. It is the path to peace—in your heart and in the whole world.”
Father God, my Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, Embrace us to yourself that we may join with you and bring your flame of love to everyone around us. That all people would give their yes to you. All Glory and Honour are yours forever!

  50. Michael Patrickon 10 Jan 2012 at 8:46 pm

… we all have things we can fast from. I find it too easy to fast from food, so I really had to consider other options. Eventually I was inspired with just the right thing of course, but I have to say that it was getting rather painful. Then my sister N comes along with a bird story and what can I say to that but –– fast over! Hallelujah!

I’ve also assisted a bird or two over the years and it’s always a great opportunity to reflect on what it means to be saved. As a bonus, we sometimes also get some insight into what it means to be a little savior, because Our Savior’s great Love and Humility is also inviting us to be like Him. True, only Jesus saves, but I’m sure He delights when He can use us for His purpose. Sometimes it’s obvious. Often we either misread it, or it’s just a complete mystery to us.

In the spirit of bird stories, here’s one from my past that I feel inspired to share…

Many years ago I found myself manning a Naval aircraft hangar by myself on the late shift (11pm – 7am). The base was on a little rock jutting up out of the Bering Sea within a stone’s throw of Russia. It was an inhospitable place… exile, really, and spiritually that’s about what it amounted to. It was the kind of self-imposed exile where even the slop you’re feeding to the hogs is starting to make your stomach grumble.

That hangar was cold and lonely for the most part, and not a great deal happened during the wee hours. I usually passed the time by cozying up to a floor heater that I put on top of the desk. Either that, or I tried to keep the blood pumping by wandering around the hangar.

One night I found a little sparrow perched up in the rafters. My first thought was to try to catch him and let him loose outdoors, but I finally decided that a little company would do me some good. As the winter really started to settle in, I found that many more sparrows started to take up residence in the hangar. Before long, I was blessed with a whole flock of twittering little sparrows livening up the place.

The night shift gradually became more bearable, but unfortunately we also had some varmints to deal with. There were some wharf rats the size of small dogs wandering around the premises. You might think that they have no use in my bird story, but believe me, the very fact that they were lurking around really kept us all on our toes.

Some nights that heater on my desk made it a little too cozy and I started to doze. That wouldn’t do, since squadron personnel periodically came in unannounced, so I tried rigging a bungee cord to the main entrance. I figured it would slam loudly when someone entered which would give me a quick wake up call. Surprisingly, that did the trick, but I have to admit that I started to feel a little guilty about that silly arrangement.

Eventually I noticed that the little birds were very dependable. Every time the door flew open they scattered wildly and made quite a racket. Before long, I just found myself staying up all night with the birds (maybe because my focus shifted to more productive matters).

Well, I left that duty station eventually and finally made it home. Praise God, things are always getting better. Every once in a while, He sends me a little sparrow as if to give me a hug of encouragement.

Oh, just little birds. Can you imagine how Jesus uses us?

I think a great deal of our personal callings our happening while we’re still fretting and worrying about them. Should we do this? Should we do that? Was this the right thing to do? That little bird song I chirped out… was it any good?

Friends, if God can bring us closer to Him with little birds, imagine what He can do with us. Maybe the more stubborn of us should fast next from resisting. As for the rest, maybe just fast from worrying. I really like Noel’s prompt to do what we can do well for those who can’t. That’s really got the Spirit of Charity in it.

    Jesus, we trust in You!

I am still seeing number sequences as well. It seems to be a daily occurence. A glance at the clock, the time of a text I received, watching a football game n the time stops on 11:11…it’s endless. I see 11:11, 12:22, 2:22, 3:33 and 4:44. I asked God to take these away if it’s not from Him or to help me understand what mean if they are from Him. I haven’t stopped seeing them, and I still don’t understand fully what He’s trying to tell me. I assume at least part of it is a call to
    prayer.

I tried to find information on this, but, yes, I came across new age sites. I guess it could even be a call to trust. When answers are not clear and there is much confusion, we run to Jesus in haste, putting our faith and trust in Him that He will clear the fog before our eyes. Maybe He’s giving us practice tests of trust in our undertakings of our ordinary lives to prepare us for the hard times. Greater trust will be needed. Practice makes perfect! Jesus, I trust in You!

Thank you Peli and Sr. Lorraine for your words of wisdom!

Sandra, I too am amazed by these messages. In fact, the last three messages have spoken in advance of the situation I asked prayers for earlier. I have had to go to a very low place, I have had to pray for an oppressor, and I have had to trust in God’s power working in and through me. I have encountered Christ in this situation. He is leading, shedding light and love into every dark corner. I trust he will see it through. Jesus I trust in YOU.

i mentioned this message to a friend. i also said that in one of the Divine Will Books, cant remember, we are told that blood will inundate the world. My friend said this may not mean BLOOD becuase our ways are not GOd’s Ways. just wondering what others think.
Sadly i think it does mean BLOOD, i have read LEFT to TELL by Immaculee. somewhere she is told this is microcism of what is coming to the whole world. I found myself crying to the Lord begging for mercy for the whole world when i read this. It truly does bring on a deep need to pray and call Jesus for Mercy. I sense this so deeply after reading Immaculees book.
tHE TIMES we are living in are not a joke. Dear Lord, Please be Merciful at least for the sake of the little children just born or not yet born.
    Any thoughts.

Peli, I guess it might have looked like I was fasting from writing but it was a little more complicated than that. One of those things “invisible to everyone but God.”

It’s amazing how that whole process unfolds. We set out with our little sparkling rock which we realize is nothing but a grain of dust by the time we put it in His hand. Not to mortify us, Our Jesus looks at that grain like it’s the greatest thing in the world and suddenly it looks like a radiant gem when He holds it up to scrutiny. We give Him nothing, and He gives us everything. What can we say to that but thank you, Jesus. Glory to God!

On another note, I almost forgot the Saint for the Year that we all participated in last year. I didn’t revisit that site, but caught a little snippet on EWTN radio the other night and had to unravel some obscure references to uncover Blessed Angela of Foligno. Another treasure!

We’re told that these saints choose us, but since Jesus knows I have to turn everything into a big adventure, I think He made me happy even in that small regard.

There’s a great many prayer intentions above, and I don’t have the prayer strength and discipline of others here, but this great Love that Jesus has for us gives me the courage to keep trying nonetheless.

    Jesus, we trust in You!

I ain’t no prophet but God does give us common sence and every once in a while I get around to use it a little. This whole thing with Iran…it is contrived and pushed by evil forces. If the US does attack…I think it bodes very bad for our economy and political system because I think Iran has a few surprize tricks up its sleeve. I think the US will stumble and fall because we are under judgement from God. It will be a unjust and immoral war because “we are the aggressors”. Pray that this war does not happen
Also pray for unity in the Church.
Also… another omen arises…a morman for president…do not be decieved…mormans are a freemason based religion. Freemasonary is condemned by the Catholic Church because it is a panthieistic religion. Freemasonary is evil.
Pray my brothers and sister for evil encompasses upon our nation, yet no one recognizes it. God is good and gracious to His sons and daughters, Peace!

  63. Noelon 11 Jan 2012 at 5:30 am

It was not the main point, but I was hoping to smoke you out, MP, with a bird story! No one tells stories as well as you do.

Peli, your intentions will be in my prayers today.

Often and often, the lives of the prophets become the prophetic utterance. We actually walk out the prophetic word, like an actor in a silent film. Sometimes only heaven knows the meaning – other times anyone really paying attention can see it. This is really a Hebrew thing (think of Ezekiel and all the odd things God asked him to do) and the modern mind doesn’t leap to it as the first thought.

    A turkey story…

The Lord seems often to teach or shame me by using the birds. As I see their simple trust, pride or ingratitude, I’m convicted by my own attitude toward God. I also experience a bit of the creator’s sorrow and the power he gives us over His creation – an awesome, frightening power. We can so easily kill things of such awesome complexity, things we could never make for ourselves, from spiders to ground hogs to turkeys, without a second thought.

At the moment our breeding male turkey, Pippo, so cute as a poult, has become a full grown Attitude. It’s not safe to go into the pen without a stick at hand to remind him he’s not in charge, although the stick is more because birds don’t like them (too much like snakes) than a weapon of war.

But for Pippo, to live is to fight, to display, to muscle into the flock of hens and dominate them, to ferociously gobble at the foul interloper, whether hawk, squirrel or farmer, to the death….

My husband and I have increased his title from ‘Mr. Pippo’ to ‘Pippo the Great’ and finally ‘Emperor Pippo the Magnificent.’ He is sure he owns the ground he walks on, the food that appears, the hens in his pen, the corn and greens by virtue of the sheer fact that he lives and breathes. The farmer is merely his slave and chattel.

Meanwhile, the hard-working farmer provides all Pippo needs by means Pippo couldn’t understand if turkeys were wont to think. Feed comes by car from a store miles away. Rye is grown for a cover crop and the kindly farmer cuts some tops for the juicy treat in winter, when forage is scarce. In bitter cold snaps heat lamps are turned on, working by means no turkey could possible understand and the cold is mitigated, water kept open and fresh.

But Pippo the Magnificent is ungrateful, selfish and sometimes mean. He displays all his mighty feathers and attacks.

At that point the farmer gets a little testy (especially after getting pecked for offering a treat) and wing wrestles the bird to the ground. Amuse yourself imagining me and a 30 lb turkey wrestling….the turkey always loses and is now immobilized. This is theoretically to show that the farmer is the stronger animal. It also gives a chance to check for mites and dock beaks.

The farmer could easily strangle that delicate, long neck, still ranging for a place to get in a peck, but instead strokes the ugly blue and red carbuncles on the head, scratches those hard to get places under the wing, feeling a little sorry for the humiliated bird, talking quietly, while Pippo deflates from Magnificent to Turkey Teen making ‘Aw, why can’t I have the keys to the barnyard, Ma?’ noises. The farmer feels great pity for the chastened bird and hopes he will mend his ways (silly farmer).

Pride always wounds itself. During one wrestle, Pippo made a daring lunge at the farmer’s overalls and got his own snood, instead. He couldn’t understand why biting the farmer was hurting HIM!

Hatred is like that, Pippo. No one is taking your hens. Where did you think you got them, in the first place? I gave them to you, as a free gift, to keep you company, for warmth, to be fruitful and multiply. I have the power to take them all away and leave you bereft.

But Pippo understands none of it.

As soon as the wrestling is over, he’s back on his feet hoping no one has noticed the brief humiliation. He’s only chastened for a few days, perhaps hours, and then it’s back to trying to intimidate the farmer with his full display and collecting titles for the Emperor’s crown…the Magnificent…the Ultimate…the Peerless…Emperor Pippo the Peerless, it has a nice ring to it…

    Hi, Family!

Not sure how many of you know this thing exists (I didn’t until a couple of years ago), but scientists have pushed the “Doomsday Clock” another minute closer to midnight.

Even though it’s secular, it still seems a little prophetic, I think, especially with the rumblings and birth pangs.

James, prayer and fasting is all we have, but it is more than enough. Here is a message from 2009 about the invincible weapons we possess.

Ephesians 6:13 Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground.

“My child, do you see how I have been preparing you for the coming trial, how I have called you to increased prayer and fasting? Is this not so that you will be able to stand firm when you are tested? For all will be tested. Those whose lamps are filled will not be ashamed on the day of judgment, for their faith will have seen them through. Child, there is much to come, but I have given you invincible weapons if you only use them: the Word—a double-edged sword; the rosary—an anchor and a link to heaven; my Chaplet of Divine Mercy—a flaming arrow to my Sacred Heart. Child, I have given you my own Spirit, the Breath of Love that flows between the Father and the Son. If I have given you all this and more, why then do you fear? Rejoice! Your King comes in triumph to set his people free from sin and death. Rejoice! For he comes to rule the world with justice and the peoples with fairness.”

Jesus, Beloved, help us to know this always, and to make use of all the gifts you have given us in this age, most especially the gift of your Holy Spirit with whom we were sealed at Confirmation. Help us to wait in joyful hope for your coming at Christmas and at the end of the age. Amen. Alleluia!

From the diary of St. Faustina:

1791 “When a great storm was approaching, I began to say the chaplet. Suddenly I heard the voice of an angel: ‘I cannot approach in this storm, because the light which comes from her mouth drives back both me and the storm.‘ Such was the angel’s complaint to God. I then recognized how much havoc he was to have made through this storm; but I also recognized that this prayer was pleasing to God, and that this chaplet was most powerful.”

Add confession and fasting to these invincible weapons and the prophetic word in the current message makes so much more sense. We have nothing to fear.

How fortunate that Peli has this forum that we can all gather and gain spiritual guidance, uplifting stories, share our concerns for each other. Thank you, Peli, for letting God use you.

Noel, your turkey story was amazing. I found myself identifying with Pippos attitude and actions. It reminded me how much God loves us and is so patient with us. Thanks for sharing.

    Peace to you all.

I really hope the Warning is truly near, June1!

  71. Beckyon 11 Jan 2012 at 1:17 pm

I’ve been praying on what to do about facebook. I discussed it with my husband, mom and mother-in-law. I was going through much turmoil, back a and forth, peace and no peace. Today, I realized God doean’t want me on facebook but on something else. All the urges and shoves I feel compell me to tell the world all that is happening now, while hearing in my head “urgent”. My Mom suggested I go another route like youtube, gloria tv or a forum.

So now, I’m asking for your prayers that I come to know what God wants of me, and I do His Will. If you have any insights, please let me know. Thank you! You all are in my prayers.

I have felt that the warning is near for a long time.
There are times when tears flow for all thoes that will be lost
How long I can not say but with a war on the horisen it will
    not be long.
A third war or muslem war.

I just heard of a prophecy: The Pope will go to Cuba. After he leaves, an American warship in the Atlantic will be destroyed, killing 2,000 sailors. Then, a large earthquake will split the nation, and Russia will invade
America. I don’t know if it’s credible, but people feel it may be, because the Pope is going to Cuba in March.

This 4o day fast is so perfect right now. If we remain faithful and hopeful in this prayer and fast, punishments can be mitigated and even averted. Jesus said to Gabrielle Bossis to expect miracles, to expect the impossible.

Lord, have Mercy on us all!

O precious Blood of Jesus, save us and the whole world!

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!

Jesus, I trust in You! Shield us and our loved ones in Your wounded side from the storms that lie ahead!

Pelianito…thankyou for not booting me off the website…every Catholic site I’ve been to when I speak sincerely from the heart, I’m shut down or booted off. Sometimes I ask strange questions for discernment or for witness and its misconstrued as being nutty. Now I certainly don’t deny being nutty…my nickname in High School was “squirrel”.
To the situation at hand…your absolutely right…”what good is fear? Pope John Paul II wrote a book called “Crossing the Threshold of Hope” It is a little high spoken but if you learn the language of a simple historian and theologian, it is a brillant book full of Gods mercy and love for us. A great message of hope is contained therein.
Thankyou for pointing out rivers of hope. I also like the story of when Jesus was in boat with his diciples and a great tempest arose. Man…are we in a tempest or what ? That is why I pray that the Comforter grant us the great grace’s of trust in God, perseverance, fortitude, longsuffering, Christian courage, humility, fervor, zeal and of course… faith, hope and love.
And so I pray these things for each of you on this board.

    Peace, James

I can pray but that is ALL. i realize that is the best thing but truly Lord only You can open them to Your Love, Presence and Forgiveness. People are just too busy in their own worlds. May the Light of the Illumination come and very very soon. Only YOU can help us and lead us back to the Truth and the real purpose for our lives. COme Holy Spirit Come by the powerful intercession of Mary Your Well Beloved Spouse.

James, I think most of us on this blog have all been called nutty (or at least thought of as nutty) at some point. :) When God moves in your life and you answer “Fiat!” you no longer fit into the world. As for the blog comments, I only ask that people here respond with fidelity to the Church and charity to others. If we have a question, we help one another to discern and work always to build the kingdom. God bless you.

Several years ago i had many burdens waying me down and i just fell to the ground and asked for the Lord to carry me. i was outside hanging out washing and just felt overwhelmed. So i asked for His help, His Love for Him to take over. It was the best thing i did. I then stood up and felt totally refreshed.
Today in Mass i was reminded of this and realized too that this is for all of us when the Day which is coming actually hits so quickly. Fall to the ground asking for the Lords Forgiveness, Love, Strength.
May the Holy Spirit come quickly and renew the face of the earth.

I’ve watched a sparrow in a storm before. It was amazing how the little creature was completely overpowered by the storm, but it kept doggedly trying to fly in the direction of shelter. It was the fluidity of its surrender to the streams of wind that eventually put it in a safe place where it rested and waited out the rest of the storm chirping repeatedly over and over.

We are the sparrow. The world is the storm. The Holy Spirit within us is the stream of God’s wind in our lives. Our safe place is the Sacred and Immaculate hearts of Jesus and Mary. Our chirping is our prayers, and for some of you, the messages that God is asking you to share with the world.

This image just came to me, clear as a bell, as I finished reading all the comments here tonight.

It’s astounding all that is taking place all around us in our world today. I sense that we are privelaged to be living in this crucial and decisive time period of history. One thing that consistently impresses itself on my heart… God certainly has not left us orphaned (judging by all of you wonderful, sharing, and Godly people here and also all His messengers).

I, too, look forward to this gift called “the illumination” so so much! I can visualize how it could be the turning point for so many people and situations. Maranatha, indeed!

Just went on Mark Mallett, randomly clicked on August 2006 and then decided that i would automatically click on the 3rd message for that month………..just asking the Lord to choose the message. i received CONFESSION….Is necessary? Interesting LORD!!

i have read this a couple of times before but the world really hit me more so……….”wounds, although not bleeding may still be infected with “self”. Confession draws the pus of pride to the surface etc etc…….”
These words really hit me. Yes Lord i see how necessary regular Confession is. Self is drawn out and the wound dealt with as a doctor would deal with a wound. My Lord, no wonder i must have regular confession. Thank You Jesus for drawing this to my attention.

    What did I think of?
My dear Peli family!! and all the bird analogies and stories we share. I thought if I could climb up like Noel and take hold of its feet……..
no, instead, I opened the garage door and out it flew.
Simple little stories of faith and love…… though I haven’t thought of it’s spiritual lesson….yet.

  89. June1on 12 Jan 2012 at 11:31 am

You guys won’t believe what I just came across!!!

At my job, I listen to radio stations from the Far North of Canada, and there was a clip of a documentary called, Eighth Fire (it’s mostly about the strained relationship between Aboriginals and the rest of Canada). I thought it was an interesting title, so I looked it up and this is what came up:

“The Eighth Fire is a term arising from the teachings of the Seven fires prophecy. The teaching suggests that if enough people—of all colors and faiths—turn from materialism and instead choose a path of respect, wisdom and spirituality, environmental and social catastrophe can be avoided, and an era of spiritual illumination will unfold.”

Spiritual illumination??? Sound familiar? This struck me, so I scrolled up to the Seventh Fire and saw this:

“It is this time that the light skinned race will be given a choice between two roads. If they choose the right road, then the Seventh Fire will light the Eighth and final Fire, an eternal fire of peace, love brotherhood and sisterhood. If the light skinned race makes the wrong choice of the roads, then the destruction which they brought with them in coming to this country will come back at them and cause much suffering and death to all the Earth’s people.”

Even the Natives know this is a time of decision. Amazing. :)

Murderers, pedophils, rapist, thieves and from what I understand a estimated 10% are sociopaths…meaning…they don’t have a concious. I’ve seen all types from all backgrounds, some of them may even be your own family or friends. The only hope is Jesus, that Jesus Christ that can help even the worst sinner be converted and be saved. Jesus Christ is our hope and salvation I simply ask you remember those prisoners in your intentions. I include your personal intentions on this board in my prayers also.

Well, today I said my final goodbyes to my mentor and friend at work. When I got home, I went to the refrigerator and opened a bottle of wine. Then I decided, ‘no, I decided yesterday to join that 40 day fast’. So I rummaged around awhile, then lost all control and grabbed the bag of pretzels, called my daughter and complained bitterly about it all. After our conversation, I opened this blog, scrolled down quickly and landed on the comment from Bonnie (I think) that began with this quote:

“Little children, you do not grasp the power I give to faithful souls. If you did, nothing would ever frighten you and you would fight temptation with your last ounce of blood.”

So much for fighting temptation. I folded as soon as I saw that pretzel bag.

I have another little story to share, which I’ve thought alot about since December when it occurred. I debated as to whether to share it or keep it to myself, but have decided that it gives amazing insight into Our Lord’s ways and what we have in store for us in His Kingdom.

I was in an audience of people (I knew well) listening to a group leader speak, when he suddenly began to say some deeply offensive, judgmental things which I took very personally. Since he has always been so hard on me in the past, I could not help but think it was personal. There was no sure way to know if the comments were directed at me, but nonetheless I took them personally and was deeply mortified and degraded by them. At that moment, my heart sunk to the lowest point imaginable, and I descended into a spiritual hell that I am sure I probably would not have recovered from on my own. I felt worthless, useless, and more alone than ever in my life. Talk about being alone in a crowd. I was truly giving up. I closed my eyes as I felt all hope dissipate and perseverence drain from my soul. My mind was in deep confusion. Then in flash, Jesus appeared directly in front of me (in my mind’s eye), took me gently by my hands and lifted me to my feet, then dissappeared. At that moment, I completely recovered and my soul was instantly healed. I know this sounds silly, but our souls can ‘see’ Jesus even when our eyes are closed. I know I did not imagine this because my mind was actually not thinking of Jesus when this happened. Interiorly, I was analyzing what was said and reeling from the imact and concluding that it was useless to go on. Then, in the midst of this dark descent into spiritual despair, our amazing God raised me up and took away the shame I felt and replaced it with incredible joy! Never, never will we ever be brought to shame, when God Himself raises us up!

Thank you , Jean, for sharing your December trial, from despair to hope in an instant of Grace ! Temptations are so strong sometimes, especially despair. Your post really resonated with me. It is amazing the effect of “just” closing our eyes, in this case, was the only “invitation to Grace” that He needed from you…. PRAISE GOD !

  97. pelianitoon 13 Jan 2012 at 8:35 am

Praise God for his mercy Jean! We so desperately need it! Thanks for sharing.

One thing I have learned (the hard way!) is that when we take things personally our focus shifts to self. Then we are in trouble! That is what the enemy wants. When we focus our eyes on Christ, nothing can harm us. What the enemy means for our destruction is turned back on him. It is a much better tactic to thank God for everything that comes and offer our sufferings for the salvation of souls. May God be praised in all things–ALL things.

Have any of you heard of the “Scapular of Benediction and Protection”? I’m new here… so pardon me if I interjecting old news as I haven’t read all past post. It is a scapular fashioned for this time in history. I have been viciously attacked all my life by the demon. Only since starting to wear the scapular daily have the attacks become more infrequent and impotent and me and my family have been saved from a terrible car accident. I can only testify that this scapular is a powerful sacramental. They are rather expensive… approxiamately 15 dollars…but they are handmade by nuns in France. They are very large but they are also beautiful. I wear my daily…I hope everyone reads up on this scapular for our Lord recommended it to Maria Jehenny as a lightening rod for Gods justice. So far its working for me.
    Peace, James

James, I’m interested in the Scapular of Benediction and Protection, but am curious how you manage to wear such a large item? I wear a normal sized brown scapular and seem to be wrestling with it all the time. Needless to say, I also find that it needs to be replaced regularly since I am wearing it all the time. Do you wear this scapular under your clothes? If you are wearing it on the outside of your clothing, I would think that would generate a lot of attention. I’m wondering how folks respond to this?

  104. LauraLeeon 13 Jan 2012 at 3:28 pm

    Dear James,
I cannot speak to the Scapular of Benediction and Protection because I am not familiar with it. I can however, speak a little about the brown scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel which is another very powerful sacramental. I have recently taken to wearing this.

On July 16, 1251, Our Lady surrounded by angels, appeared to St. Simon Stock and held in her hand a scapular and said to him, “Here is a sign for you and for all Carmelites: Whosoever shall die wearing this habit shall not suffer eternal fire.” And she gave him the scapular.

The vision of St. Simon Stock was acknowledged by Pope Innocent IV. The gift of the scapular was made to the whole church, for the Blessed Virgin had said, “Whosoever shall die with the sign of the Order…” so by joining the Scapular Confraternity, the laity could also benefit from it’s message of salvation. There have been many scapular miracles over the years.

There is so much you can read about it, but suffice it to say it was a gift from Our Lady’s hands to us and it affords great protection. There are countless stories of people saved from great dangers; physical and spiritual.

Of the many spiritual favors granted by the Church to those who wear the scapular, is the “Sabbatine Privilege”. Pope John XXII in 1317 was granted a vision of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She promised the Holy Father that she would rescue wearers of her Scapular from Purgatory on the Saturday following their death. This promise was conditional on two things: the observance of the chastity of their state (total chastity for the celibate and conjugal chastity for the married), and the recitation of the canonical hours (or the Little Office of Our Lady).

Of course our Lady’s promise does not mean we can wear the scapular and go about sinning. We still must do our best to be faithful children. One does not mock God. Devotion to the Scapular requires our belief in the eternal retribution for good and evil works, an awareness of our own frailty, but most importantly an absolute confidence in God’s grace and in the all-powerful protection of Mary.

I have rambled on :) There is so much more to tell. I highly recommend reading up on it. The Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is a beautiful and miraculous gift to all of her children.

with much love and many blessings,
    LauraLee

Becky, i too was wondering where you heard such a prophecy. i am very cautious and the fact that there is no reference to the person who gave the prophecy is concerning. i am only saying this because times are very dark and confusing and i believe we have to be careful of what we read and quote. If you could give more information that would be helpful.
Without prophecies, i think the little ones who in their weakness are trying to stay close to the Lord can see times are urgent. I do hope the Warning is extremely soon as the world of pleasure and self have the world in a grip. I simply do not watch t.v. anymore. i do not read books or magazines other than spiritual because i do believe the Lord is trying to bring us out from so very much that taints us. I believe He is trying to bring us out of Egypt and Egypt out of us. It is a huge process.

I found this quote at the end of one of the videos on a link from an earlier comment. This one is a keeper:

“Dear friends, may no adversity paralyze you. Be afraid neither of the world, nor of the future, nor of your weakness. The Lord allowed you to live in this moment of history so that, by your faith, his name will continue to resound throughout the world” Pope Benedict XVI

I have a feeling that heaven is ready to storm earth!

As a follow-up to all we’ve been expressing and Jean’s quote from St. Benedict:

Prayer In Time Of Great Need

O holy Saint Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers.

Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety.

Encouraged by this thought, I implore of you to obtain for me (mention your request).

The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so, you are the Saint of Miracles.

O gentle and loving Saint Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, Who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.

  114. Mickon 13 Jan 2012 at 10:07 pm

James, I’m very familiar with the Scapular of Benediction and Protection. We have had one hanging on the wall over our family altar for several years. I got mine from Roman Catholic Sacramentals Foundation in Omaha, Nebraska (www.sacramentals.org). They also have two other sacramentals that were revealed to Marie-Julie Jahenny: a medal of Our Lady and a special cross of forgiveness.

Sometime last year, we had quite a nice discusssion about Marie-Julie on another thread. I can’t remember when it was (Peli, Lucy, do you remember?) I’ve been trying to make my way through some of the information written about her in French (there’s not too much accurate info about her in English), but my French isn’t great so a don’t have a lot to show for myself after almost 4 years. But after much prayer, I’m convinced that the Scapular of Benediction and Protection, the Medal of Our Lady of Good Counsel/Good Guard, and the Cross of Protection have been given to us for the times that appear to be rapidly closing in on us. My four kids and I all wear the Medal and the Cross; and although I don’t currently wear the Scapular of Benediction and Protection (I wear the Brown Scapular), I have purchased one for each member of the family because I firmly believe that we will need them in the not-so-distant-future.

Oh, and James, I this morning I prayed for all of those for whom you requested that we pray–for the types of men that are incarcerated where you work. I have added this intention of yours to my list of intentions for my Rosary and for my Divine Mercy Chaplet.

  115. Mickon 13 Jan 2012 at 10:15 pm

    Mary Therese and Kathy–

Hawthorn leaves (with flowers) are also available from Mountain Rose Herbs (mountainroseherbs.com) and from Frontier Herbs (www.frontiercoop.com). I have some that I ordered from Frontier some time ago. Marie-Julie Jahenny said to use hawthorn for cholera in the times to come, but she didn’t specify whether to use leave, flowers, or berries. Does Marie Esperanza say to use only the leaves without the flowers?

God is so good, after struggling yesterday i found a catholic store and beautiful website very close by thought i would share http://www.sttheresebookstore.com

    Let nothing upset you,
    let nothing startle you.
    All things pass;
    God does not change.
    Patience wins
    all it seeks.
    Whoever has God
    lacks nothing:
    God alone is enough.

    -St Teresa Avila

Do not look in fear to the changes in life; rather look to them with full hope that as they arise, God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms. Do not fear what may happen tomorrow: the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you today and everyday. He will either shield you from suffering, or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginings.

  117. Theresa Von 14 Jan 2012 at 8:13 am

    Dear Jean
I also struggled for many years with wearing a scapular, always having to
readjust it around my neck and shoulders, and change it as it got worn out
and faded. Last year I heard about a ‘scapular medal’, which carries exactly
the same merits as the cloth scapular. I now wear it on a chain around my
    neck. So much easier:)

May God bless you and all the wonderful souls in the ‘Peli family’,
    Theresa

  118. pelianitoon 14 Jan 2012 at 9:59 am

Karen, fear is a temptation to stop trusting in Jesus. The remedy is to pray Jesus I trust in you. I too am tempted to despair over people close to me. I have to fight my own desire to “shake things up”. But that would put the focus on me and would likely chase people farther away from God. I need to pray more. Let us all pray a Hail Mary right now for everyone here, and their families. Hail Mary…

Friends, Catholic Online has put up a “virtual pilgrimage” site in honour of Our Lady. You can see it here.

Mick the two posts where Marie-Julie is mentioned in the comments are here and here. The exchange was between Mick and Lucy mostly, so you can scroll past the others if you just want to read those.

I just discovered that Hawthorn tea is one of the Traditional Medicinals teas, which can be purchased even at some grocery stores. Thank all of you who have shared about this. My thorny Hawthorn tree can certainly be put to good use and my sister just offered me another Hawthorn tree (which I will soon plant). ;-)

Kathy your mention of the “thorny hawthorn” reminded me that I have been given a crown of thorns made of hawthorn. I’d forgotten what it was made of. Just thought I’d mention it. :)

    Hello Jean,

I wear mine under my shirts, it is a large scapular but you get used to it after a while and it is easily cleaned with soap and tap water. I don’t even know I’m wearing it most of the time.
    Peace, James

    Hello LauraLee,

Thanks for all the info on the Brown Scapular, these sacramentals heaven gives us are the little treasures that many have forgotten about. Thanks for the reminder.
    Peace, James

    Hi Pelianto,

Hummm, it almost makes you wonder if maybe the true crown of thorns was made of Hawthorn…wonder if it grows in the Holy Land?
    Peace, James

Interesting idea James, and maybe that’s why God granted it healing properties for the time of trial.

Peli, James and others, according to Maria Valtorta in the ‘Poem of the Man-God’ (Vol. 5 p. 565) the Crown of Thorns was made with “branches of wild hawthorn”.
