Divine Mercy Novena, Third Day
“Today bring to Me all Devout and Faithful Souls, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. These souls brought me consolation on the Way of the Cross. They were a drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness.”
Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wondrous love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection. Thus may they never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless mercy for endless ages. Amen.
Habakkuk 1:3-4 Why do you let me see ruin; why must I look at misery? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and clamorous discord. This is why the law is benumbed, and judgment is never rendered: Because the wicked circumvent the just; this is why judgment comes forth perverted.
“My beloved, when justice is circumvented, misery prevails. Can you see how this is being played out in your day? Sin and corruption, disorder and woe—these are the fruits of greed and licentiousness. Perversion abounds. All God’s gifts are abused by this wicked generation. How long must I hold back my wrath?”
Lord have mercy!
“Child, the mercy of God is all that can save you now. If not for God’s mercy, won by those who imitate Jesus in prayer and sacrifice, the world would already have been destroyed. My child, continue to fast and pray. Do not begrudge one instant spent as a disciple of mercy. There are many who depend on you.”
Lord, I have nothing to offer save what you have given me to offer. Then here is my heart and my will on your altar with the Body and Blood of Christ. For his sake, O Lord, have mercy. Amen.
