The first is to distribute the Divine Mercy image far and wide, and especially to give DM holy cards to people to carry in their purses and wallets. I feel this is especially important for men, as our Lord is much offended by the sins of so many men, especially those committed against women and children. I praise God for all the faithful and God-fearing men in the world, but they are too few. The Divine Mercy image, coupled with our prayers for conversions, can accomplish miracles.

The second is the “24 Hours of the Passion” given to the servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta. While there is some controversy over her writings, Luisa’s cause is up for beatification at this time, and her “24 Hours” has had the approval of her Bishop since the beginning. (For further clarification, please read this excellent article on EWTN.) I have personally prayed it twice and found it very powerful. I feel at this time that our Lord’s much wounded heart requires many souls to make reparation and this prayer is what the Lord has placed on my heart. Please pray and discern whether you are called to make reparation in this way this Lent.

There are several ways to pray the “24 Hours”. For example, if you wish to pray one of the hours each day ending on Good Friday, you would begin on March 10. The prayer may be found here.

In the words of St. Francis of Assisi as he lay dying, “Brothers, let us begin again, for up to now we have done very little.”

Jesus we trust in you.

“My beloved child, is there anything I cannot do? Then know and believe that those whose lives are abandoned to me I will use to my glory. Many are called but few are chosen. Let those who will abandon themselves to the will of the Father empty themselves of all other attachments*. The Lord has need of faithful warriors, loyal servants untethered by the world. Do nothing prematurely, but be ready in the fullness of time to abandon what you know to follow me into the unknown. Do not fear, for I do not call souls to service without seeing to every detail. Watch and pray, listen and learn. Your Lord desires that all who serve him remain at the ready.”

Here I am Lord, I come to live in your will. In your mercy give us clear signals, clear directions, and every grace, so that we will be worthy to fight alongside you. Jesus in Mary we trust in you. Amen.

(*I do not take this to mean that we necessarily drop everything today, but that we live in a spirit of detachment from all that we have, in the event that we are asked to leave everything behind at some future date. Of course, Christians should live in the spirit of detachment at all times as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior at the end of time, or at the end of our lives.)

“O my child! How I long for this day! And yet what comes before it is a day of sorrow, a time of woe. But, my child, if you only knew the joys in store for those who place their hope in me, you would cease to be afraid and would never stop singing for joy. Let joy be your armor for the time to come and it will be your glory in time unending. My little one, live in joy and be free!”

Jesus, Beloved, you are my joy and my hope. Infant King, I give all thanks and praise to you, and offer you in gratitude the joy of the Gloriana*. May we always be found waiting in joyful hope for your coming—at the end of our lives and at the end of time. Amen.

(*Gloriana: The angels and saints in perfect communion with the Blessed Trinity; the perfect unity of heaven.)

About a year ago, I felt called to send out a message in a personal email to people I know. I thought it might be helpful to others who may want to tell others about the coming illumination of conscience but can’t quite find the words.I have posted this email message as a new page on the bottom left.

When I showed the message to a priest I know asking if I should send it out, he said this was a message that should be sent out. Pray for discernment and ask for guidance as to whom to send it to—if God is calling you to do so.

May God’s kingdom come and his will alone be done!

Let us prepare our hearts this Advent as never before. Let us prepare our homes as the Spirit leads. Lord keep us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. Come Lord Jesus, come and be born in our hearts.
